The Keen2Go ‘to do list’ often includes items such as session planning, contacting clients and arranging meetings with venues and activity providers, but never ‘stop’, just stop what you’re doing and reflect on how far we’ve come.
As our first birthday approaches, now is the perfect time to take stock of our achievements to date and celebrate the positive impact we continue to have on the wellbeing of our members and their families.
August 2018 saw our first session take place – the culmination of many months of planning and development, and a huge accomplishment both personally and for the business. We had arrived! Our priorities at that stage were focused on exploring the needs of the community we were to serve, establishing the Keen2Go brand and, most importantly, delivering the high quality of services our members deserve.
From then, our regular clubs have gone from strength to strength, welcoming more members and providing them more opportunities to pursue their interests. We have introduced skills-focused sessions with varied goals, including improving social interaction and developing skills for independent living, and offer active and social sessions to help members keep fit and understand a healthy lifestyle, and make and meet friends respectively.
Since inception, our bumper school holiday programmes have seen a huge rise in interest, with many members pointing to holiday sessions as the highlights of the Keen2Go calendar. We offer varied programmes – including day trips, social events and sports days – where there really is something for everyone. We endeavour to find new activities and places to visit and continue to learn from experience and feedback to build the best possible schedules for our members.
We are committed to sustainable growth – ensuring service quality is never compromised and that we don’t overpromise on what we can offer. Our client base has seen a manageable increase and we are now proud to support over fifty young people to provide the opportunities they deserve. One of our aims at the start of the development process was to help as many people as possible without lowering the standard of support we offer – it is important that we celebrate this achievement and take this widening impact as motivation for the future.
Our wonderful team of professionals has also grown as we continue to work with dedicated, experienced practitioners who not only share our values and vision, but are connected to sessions and activities where they share an interest or passion with the members they supervise. We expect the very best for our service users and therefore the highest of standards from our team, in exchange we offer a fantastic working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives. Our maxim – ‘Together We Grow’ – applies to our team as well as our members.
It is an exciting time here at Keen2Go as we look to build on the foundations provided by a hugely successful inaugural year to introduce new clubs and activities and expand our reach to help support as many people as possible. We remain, as ever, open to suggestions and partnerships as we construct our services around the needs and interests of those we hope to benefit.
The final word has to go to our fabulous members and their eternally supportive families. We are extremely thankful for all your help and positive energy and understand that without you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. You make it all more than worth it and of course will be invited to our very first birthday party!
