Monday

It’s Monday… It’s Active Day… And it’s Live!
It was plain sailing on the first day of the week as the team turned their marine engineering skills into the wind at Beddington Park for a mini boat race. The flotilla navigated the stream masterfully to the delight of the watching captains – Hurrah!
Next we swung by the Driving Range fore a spot of golf. The sun was out and generous, magically transforming The Oaks into the Augusta National. Some fantastic players graced the course that day with some excellent golf on display – watch out Brooks Koepka!
But we weren’t done yet. After lunch was served, we hit the tennis courts on our return to Beddington Park. The sun wasn’t done yet either and kept us company throughout our session – Smashing!
Tuesday

It was Swimming, Dinner and Disco day and time to cut the waves, cut into the Nando’s and cut some shapes over at the Sutton Civic Centre.
We love a swimming day at Keen2Go and the members were eager to dive straight in. The pool seemed to expand with each length and the hunger definitely got louder with every game played. We knew just the place to sort us out.
Keen2Go proudly boast some of the best dancers in the borough and beyond. We were ready, but was the dancefloor? It was a great evening as always and we will definitely be strutting over for a few more tracks yet.
Wednesday
The week strikes Wednesday as the Keen2Go Dudes slip on their bowling shoes and limber up for a game at Tenpin in Croydon. We all love a bit of bowling and had a brilliant game that got a tiny bit tense towards the end.
We finished with a debrief meal where we replayed some of the brilliant action – we certainly didn’t leave any spares!

On to the second fixture in the Keen2Go Cup. The weather wasn’t playing ball so we ventured inside for some pool and bowling – not sure Joe Root would have taken his team down the lanes had a test match been rained off, but we’ve got it all in our locker. The first week was amazing but this session might just have pipped it as teamwork and sportsmanship met perseverance and the positivity to make the most of the situation. Look at how wet we were… but look at our smiles.
Friday

If all the excitement of the Keen2Go Cup was inspiring, so was our tour of our magnificent national stadium, Wembley. The gigantic arch stood proud as we made our way along the famous Wembley Way towards the home of English football. We had a little walk around the outside of the stadium and checked out the shops at the Designer Outlet before settling down for a bit of lunch at Boxpark.
After lunch we took our tour, following in the footsteps of sporting and musical heroes such as Lionel Messi, Anthony Joshua and Oasis. Did you know Wembley has more toilets than any other venue in the world? 2,618 to be exact. Use that knowledge wisely. We saw inside the changing rooms, walked out of the tunnel, fielded some tricky questions in the press room and even got to lift the FA Cup.
A fantastic end to another brilliant week. Roll on week three and a trip to the beautiful Hampton Court Palace. All will feature in next week’s scrapbook… if we make it out of the famous maze that is.
