It’s been a tricky time for everyone here at Keen2Go and across the community, as we as a nation overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. Our popular group sessions had been going from strength to strength and we had some amazing plans that unfortunately had to be placed on hold.
We were not able to deliver our Easter programme or build on the success of last year’s egg hunt and missed out on a weekend away and working with some amazing supporters to run a fundraising quiz night. Though, after ten weeks of Zoom quizzes, we certainly fancy our chances when the time comes.
But what we were determined to maintain throughout the lockdown period was the incredible Keen2Go spirit, friendships and network of support that runs through and beyond all of our physical activities. So this is what we have been up to in place of our regular sessions…
Daily Zoom Sessions
Over the past ten weeks, we have delivered daily Zoom sessions getting members together to catch up with one another and participate in remote activities, including a rather easy and extremely melty chocolate egg hunt around a small suburban garden – not quite the beautiful Beddington Park.

It’s been amazing to see how well our members have been coping with such a difficult situation and how supportive of each other they have been. They are truly inspirational and have certainly kept our spirits up and spurred us on to build bigger and better post-lockdown programmes. We hate having to end the sessions, but the chaotic goodbye song and dance leaves a smile that outlasts the sun.
We’re still live everyday from 14:30. Get in touch to get involved!
Easter Eggs and Activity Packs
We were extremely (thought better of the pun) grateful to receive over 50 Easter Eggs from South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust and Sutton CAMHS.
We paired each egg up with a goody bag and some activities and set about delivering them to the doorsteps of our members. Needless to say they got quite the reception, as chocolate usually does.

Thank you for your wonderful pictures and the brilliant artwork created as part of the activity pack!
The Three Nations Challenge
You wanted a challenge, we gave it to you. The route was planned, the artwork created and the information shared to members. Time to sit back for the summer and watch the miles slowly trickle in, we thought. No chance! The team completed the 617 mile trip to Edinburgh in just over a month.
Members were tasked to record their exercise times and distances and send them in. We then converted them to miles, added them up into a team total and pushed our way up the map to our end goal.
Along the way we visited Buckingham Palace, Cardiff, Snowdonia and the Lake District amongst other well-known locations.
It was an astounding effort. We knew we had an incredible team, but the response was truly unbelievable. Everyone who took part should be exceptionally proud of what they have achieved.

The pressure is now firmly back on us. You said you wanted more and we’re going to give it to you, even bigger and better. Get your sun cream ready and your passports out – the Race to Rome will shortly be upon us. Ciao!
Keen Kitchen
While it’s been baking outside, we’ve been baking indoors with the help of our head chef, Lilly. Every Wednesday we’ve been in our kitchens creating all sorts of tasty treats, from burgers to cheese cake.
The uptake has been fantastic and our members’ wonderful creations have made all the washing up more than worth it.

Join us tomorrow as we make chocolate cup cakes!
And we’ve been recognised for our efforts!
We were extremely proud to have been nominated by one of our supporters for an Unsung Hero award from Carshalton and Wallington MP, Elliot Colburn, for our efforts during the lockdown period.
It will take pride of place in the Keen2Go office and is the icing on the cake atop the wonderful feedback from members, parents and supporters.

It has been an unfortunate time, but we are immensely proud of what we have managed to achieve in such difficult circumstances.
With the easing of the lockdown, we are now able to resume a limited service and welcome members back for one-to-one and small group sessions with social distancing measures in place.
We look forward to opening the doors wide and bringing you a new and improved service once it is safe for us to do so.
Take care and please keep in touch.
